Boss Lady Bread

A hearty, seed + nut loaf made with whole wheat flour

  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 1.5 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup liquid sweetener of choice
  • 3 tbsp Earth Balance vegan butter
  • 1.5 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup raw pumpkin seeds
  • 3 tbsp poppyseeds
  • 3 tbsp sesame seeds


  1. Add warm water and yeast to a bowl, mix with fork and let sit to bloom for ten minutes

  2. Add in the rest of the ingredients in the order listed above

  3. Mix with a wooden spoon until a soft dough has formed. Knead for 5 minutes

  4. Cover bowl with a dish towel and let the dough rest for 45 minutes

  5. Grease a bread pan with a little oil and turn down out into the pan. Cover and let rest another 45 minutes

  6. During the last 15 minutes of the rise time, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  

  7. When the dough is done rising, place in the oven to bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

  8. Let cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing into the loaf. Serve with jam, nut butter, avocado, you name it and enjoy!
